The North Eastern Council Secretariat (NEC), Shillong has released an official recruitment notification for the post of Senior Consultant in Agriculture & Allied Sector. This recruitment is being conducted on a contractual basis to strengthen agricultural planning, project monitoring and development programs in the North Eastern Region of India.

Salary

Selected candidates will receive a monthly remuneration of ₹75,000. The organization may provide a yearly increment of ₹3,000 based on satisfactory work performance and project contributions.

Age Limit

The minimum age required for the post is 27 years, while the maximum age limit is 50 years.

Age relaxation will be provided according to Government rules:

• SC/ST candidates: 5 years relaxation
• OBC candidates: 3 years relaxation

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for this position must possess the following qualification:

• Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Agriculture / Horticulture / Veterinary Science / Fisheries or related discipline from a recognized university.

Applicants with strong academic background and specialization in agriculture related fields will be preferred.

Experience Required

Candidates should have at least 6 years of professional experience in agriculture or allied sector activities such as:

• Agriculture project implementation
• Value chain development
• Rural development programs
• Coordination with government departments

Experience working in the North Eastern Region of India will be considered an additional advantage.

Roles and Responsibilities

The selected Senior Consultant will support NEC in agricultural sector planning and monitoring activities. The main responsibilities include:

• Monitoring agriculture, horticulture, livestock and fisheries projects.
• Coordinating with state agriculture departments, research institutions and field offices.
• Preparing sectoral reports, data analysis and analytical notes on agriculture productivity and value chains.
• Supporting the planning of multi-state agriculture and allied sector development projects.
• Identifying implementation challenges and preparing follow-up reports.
• Assisting in organizing meetings, documentation and project reviews.

These responsibilities aim to strengthen agricultural development strategies across the North Eastern states.

The selected candidate will work at the NEC Secretariat, Nongrim Hills, Shillong, Meghalaya.
